Shelves (§213.3.7, §603.4) If shelves are provided, at least one of each type must be located 40” min. to 48” Operable Parts (§309) max. above finish floor. Operable parts must have compliant clear floor space for a forward or side approach. They also must be located within accessible reach range and usable with one hand and without tight grasping, pinching, twisting of the wrist, or more than 5 pounds force. 16
